Who the Ride Helps

The Olympic Peninsula Bike Adventure is a fund-raiser with all the proceeds to benefit the Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula Foundation and the Port Angeles Park & Recreation Department.

Boys and Girls Clubs Foundation of the Olympic Peninsula

Our Mission:

To promote, encourage and financially support the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula in its mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive responsible and caring citizens.

About the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula
Our clubs are located in Sequim and Port Angeles and for only $24 dollars a calendar year a kid can attend a club every day after school and during the summer for at least 5 hours a day. Scholarships are provided for any individual unable to afford, but even at these low fees nearly 20% of our members are on scholarships.

During Clubhouse hours the Clubs provide programs in five areas:

  • Character and Leadership Development
  • Education and Career Development
  • Health and Life Skills
  • The Arts
  • Sports, Fitness and Recreation

Our Boys and Girls Club programs have provided everything from a skirt and blouse for a choir performance, daily help with homework from a caring adult, to advanced computer skills training or just a consistent shoulder to lean on. We are literally saving lives at our Boys and Girls Club. We are also dispensing opportunities. Because we exist, youth attending our facilities have:

  • Made their first trip to Seattle (only two hours away by car);
  • Ridden on an elevator and ferry for the first time;
  • Attended a ballet or a world-cup soccer match for the first time;
  • Hiked Mount Storm King and slept in a sleeping bag for the first time.

Our Endowment Needs
Boys and Girls Clubs Foundation of the Olympic Peninsula goal is to develop an endowment of 5 million dollars. 5% of the endowment would be used each year to assist with operating costs. Once built, the endowment would contribute a critical operating legacy.
